Child Development Programme
The programme aims to advocate for the rights of the children in Pumwani through strengthening the capacity of the community, including children to understand and lobby for these rights. The need for the interventions of the programme arose due to the rampant violations of the children rights and abuse which has devastating effects on their development. The programme’s interventions ensure that the communities are sensitized on the children rights and the need for children to be raised in a secure environment.
The programme interventions comprise of: the creation of child rights awareness to the children, public and other child based service providers, mainstreaming of children participating in all children programmes, strengthening of community structures to address issues of child rights, increasing access to education for children out of school through the satellite schools and clubs and documentation of children casework targeting children who are between 6 – 14 years.
